NCTV Launches Screenplay Mentorship: Empowering Emerging Storytellers to Bring Their Stories to Life

Nantucket, MA – Every powerful film begins with a voice brave enough to speak. Nantucket Community Television (NCTV) is proud to announce the launch of its Screenplay Mentorship program, an initiative designed to guide emerging writers in transforming raw ideas into cinematic stories.
This free mentorship, led by NCTV’s Director of Programming, provides participants with an unparalleled opportunity to develop their craft under expert guidance and receive real-world support. Writers will receive personalized feedback, story development tools, and a clear path to prepare their scripts for potential production and festival consideration.

Select scripts may even be brought to life as short films, with the potential to premiere at prestigious platforms like NEW Moon Fest. This year, NEW Moon Fest made a bold declaration: women’s voices rise not in reaction, but in reclamation. As the signature fundraiser for NCTV, NEW Moon Fest embodies the mission of Nantucket’s only multimedia arts center—to empower voices of all ages and backgrounds.

Through the Screenplay Mentorship, NCTV extends this mission to writers with stories that demand to be told. Whether you’re an aspiring screenwriter or a storyteller with a vision, this program is your chance to shape your narrative and share it with the world.

“This mentorship is a fantastic extension of our education initiatives,” said Steph Serra, Director of Programming at NCTV. “It’s about giving writers the tools and confidence to take a private idea and turn it into something that resonates on screen. It’s about empowering voices that deserve to be heard.”

If you’re ready to write your opening scene, NCTV is prepared to help you shape it. Applications for the Screenplay Mentorship are now open.
